Who we are

Cadence is operated by CadenceMusicApp. For the personal data described here, CadenceMusicApp is the data controller — we decide what data is collected and why.

What we collect and why

  • Account data — email address or phone number, sign-in credentials or Google sign-in identifier, display name, and the role you pick (artist, producer, engineer and so on). Used to create and secure your account and provide the service. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • Content you upload — audio and video files, cover art, project and group names, and chat messages inside your private groups. Used to store and stream your music to you and the members of your groups. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
  • Usage and device data — log records, IP address, browser and device identifiers, and error reports. Used to keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a safe, working service.
  • Support and reports — messages you send us and content reports you submit. Used to answer you and to moderate the service. Legal basis: legitimate interest and legal obligation.
  • Subscription records — your plan, subscription status and billing period, so paid features unlock correctly. Card details are never handled by us. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
  • Marketing — if you opt in to email summaries, we use your email address to send them. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings.

Who we share data with

  • Service providers who host our infrastructure, database, file storage and error monitoring.
  • Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of memberships, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
  • Professional advisers such as our legal and accounting advisers.
  • Authorities where we are required to share data by law.

We do not sell personal data.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep account data and uploads for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account or it is terminated, content and account data are deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records (for example billing records) to meet legal obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent. Contact us to exercise any of these and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA you also have the right to complain to your data protection supervisory authority.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, private-by-default storage, and signed, time-limited links to your audio files.

Cookies and local storage

Cadence uses strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences such as theme and playback settings. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear this storage in your browser at any time, though you will then need to sign in again.
